GuidelinesPlease read carefully
- Leash at all times
Pets must remain on a leash and under adult supervision in all hotel areas. They may not roam freely.
- Never unsupervised
Pets may not be left alone in the room. They require adult care and supervision throughout the stay.
- Therapy or service pets
If your pet is a therapy or service animal, notify us when booking and present the certificates that confirm it.

- No potentially dangerous breeds
For the peace of all our guests, breeds considered potentially dangerous are not admitted.
- Their food, their belongings
Food, medicine, grooming items and bowls are the owner’s responsibility. Hotel sheets, crockery and glassware may not be used to feed pets.
- Waste collection
Owners must fully collect pet waste. We recommend oxo-biodegradable bags, properly sealed for disposal.
- Responsibility for damage
Owners are responsible for any damage or extraordinary cleaning costs caused by their pet to the property, third parties or their belongings.
- Right of admission
MÍA Bacalar reserves the right of admission in cases of behavior or conditions that affect guest peace or breach these guidelines.

Your room
Your companion rests with you. Remember they cannot be left unsupervised, and hotel sheets, crockery and glassware may not be used for feeding.

Private terraces
Your suite terrace is a natural extension of the room: an intimate space to watch sunrise over the lagoon with your pet.

Gardens and paths
Walk your pet along the paths that connect the suites and common areas. Oxo-biodegradable bags and fresh water always at hand.

Pier and shoreline
A walk at the water’s edge, among the seven colors. The private pier is a quiet corner to share the lagoon’s silence.

How many pets can I bring to MÍA Bacalar?
You may arrive with one pet up to 25 kg, or two pets that together do not exceed 25 kg per room. Reservations are always prior and subject to availability, so please let us know when booking.
What is the pet fee?
$80 USD per pet, per stay. The fee is coordinated at check-in together with signing the pet registration agreement.
What documents do I need on arrival?
An up-to-date vaccination card and current flea and tick protection. If your pet is a therapy or service animal, also present the certificate and notify us when booking.
Can I leave my pet alone in the room?
No. Your pet must remain under adult care and supervision throughout the stay, always on a leash outside the room. This condition protects both their wellbeing and the peace of our other guests.
Which breeds are not admitted?
Breeds considered potentially dangerous are not admitted. If you are unsure whether your pet can join you, write to us before booking and we will gladly confirm.
Can I take my pet to the restaurant or spa?
The interior of Hunab Ku restaurant, Ixchel Spa, the pool and food service areas are exclusive to guests without pets.
Your companion may join you in the room, private terrace, gardens, paths and the pier by the lagoon.
Does MÍA Bacalar provide a bed, bowl or other items?
Yes. We prepare a bed and bowl so your pet feels welcome from arrival.
Food, medicine, grooming items and specific feeders remain the owner’s responsibility. We recommend bringing their usual belongings so they feel at home from the first moment.
